Tried ball milling AP to get a bimodal AP particle distribution for a 80% solids (barely) pourable formula.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lortone 45C ball mill\n<ul>\n<li>Container: 1500ml \/\/ 1,5liter<\/li>\n<li>Ceramic grinding media 20mm balls \u2013 1400gr is approx 750ml<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Lortone 45C ball mill loading instructions:\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 full of milling media<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 full of chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>First fill empty mill jar with one-quarter full of chemicals (one-quarter = 375ml = approx 700gr AP or KNO3) than load with approximately 1400gr grinding media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>20240329 \u2013 AP ball milling:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lortone 45C ball mill<\/li>\n<li>1380gr of ceramic grinding media 20mm balls<\/li>\n<li>800gr of 200um spherical AP (considered heavy loading not 25% but 28% loading with AP)<\/li>\n<li>1, 2 &amp; 3 hours run time.<\/li>\n<li>1hr &#8211; fine crystals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>20211017 \u2013 For BKNO3.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lortone 45C ball mill<\/li>\n<li>1400gr of ceramic grinding media 20mm balls<\/li>\n<li>300gr of KN<\/li>\n<li>1hr run time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AP ball milling:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lortone 45C ball mill<\/li>\n<li>1840gr of ceramic grinding media 20mm balls<\/li>\n<li>500gr of 200um spherical AP<\/li>\n<li>3 hours run time.<\/li>\n<li>powdered sugar like consistancy\\<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post is a repository.
