DECA 12 grain – 2010
How long can we go? The succesful DECA 8 grain motor casing was extended to accomodate 4 additional bates grains. Utilizing 12 bates grains and delivering 1700 -2100Ns on a KNER or KNDX load, this slender motor will take a rocket up to and beyond 3km.

DECA 8 grain – 2010
Motor using 8 bates grains. Nozzle and bulkhead / coupler are retained with countersunk bolts. This will be a test of principle to use on larger diameter motors.

DECA 4 grain – 2010
Motor using 4 bates grains and nozzle and bulkhead are retained by snap rings.
DECA bates grain making
Instruction guide and pictorial of the entire proces which is similar for all 54mm motors.
Design
- Grain type – BATES
- Grain length – 65mm
- Inhibitor length – 70mm
- Grain outer diameter – Ø 44,0mm
- Inhibitor outer diameter – Ø 46,0mm
- Inter segment spacing – 5,0mm (length inhibitor minus grain length)
- Core diameter – Ø 20,5mm. Same as the outer diameter of the POM /Delrin coring rod
- Theoretical weight KNDX at 98% density – 147gr (actual 149gr will be added because 1-2gr extra to make up for some foreseen losses)
